I’m Char, a Welsh artist based in Cardiff, specialising in acrylic painting and fine-liner illustration. My aesthetic involves precise line-work, bold colours, geometric shapes, and intricate patterns.

After graduating from art school in 2015, I embarked on a five-year journey around the world. My work has been commissioned in Colombia, the USA, Mexico, and Australia, as well as closer to home in England and Wales.

For me, life is a chaotic conveyor belt of wonderfully peculiar happenings, with inspiration found everywhere: the beauty of nature, pivotal moments, shining glories and crushing defeats, old folk tales, all-consuming emotions, the extraordinary, and the everyday.

Through my pattern paintings, I seek to find order within chaos.

Painting is a meditative practice for me—a way to balance the world’s wildness, expressed through clashing colours and intricate patterns that weave together into a harmonious whole."
